HI all,
Has any body tried cold pressed hemp oil as a carrier?

I now have access to a supply, but have never tried it myself. Any thoughts please.

Hemp seeds produce a vegetable oil that is high in protein and can be
used within a variety of foods and cosmetics. Hemp Seed Oil is one of
the more effective skin-care oils. High in linoleic and linolenic acid
- natural essential fatty acids known as the omegas - making this oil
very nourishing and healing to the skin.

If the "oil" really is high in protein, it has not been properly filtered
and will go bad very quickly.

It will keep longer if refrigerated, or with some Vit E added.

Tocopherols are preservative to oils; they are not much good at preserving
proteins. In the case of oils, the "anti-oxident" effect is quite literal.
Oil rancidity is caused by the substitution of oxygen in unsaturated carbon
chains. The vitamin E slows the process. It will not discourage the
breakdown of protein, either spontaneous or via microorganisms.

I only said it will keep longer, not indefinitely. What proteins are in
hemp oil?

That's a good question. Perhaps the person who posted that "Hemp seeds
produce a vegetable oil that is high in protein" could answer it.

I'm not the poster that mentioned it, but you can
get details about the Hemp Seed Protein from the
description with the same title at

As a new-commer to this particular usnet group, Hello.

I am curious myself, has Hemp oil been tried? If used (perhaps in small
amounts when fresh) would it be a good choice to try as a carrier oil?

Has this been tried?
